The Econo Lodge in Old Baytown Texas
Do not go there. We are storm chasers and we use these hotels multiple times through out the year. Some foreign guy is a complete jerk. I travel all over the world using these hotels. The guy was rude, ugly, and threatening because I asked him his name. He claimed to...

I checked into a room at the Econolodge in Bell Mawr, NJ on 4/24/2018 around 9:40 pm. I got the key card, went out to get some chips, came back and went into the room, which hadn't been cleaned. I went to the desk to say that room hadn't been cleaned, please give me...

We stayed 1/13-14/2018. There were hundreds of cigarette butts on the ground going to the rooms. The room had not been cleaned or the sheets changed. Old coffee was still in the coffee pot. The floor was filthy, had not been vacuumed. That night we slept on top of the...

Econo Lodge review: Reservation at Econolodge Inn in Carlsbad, NM

I made a reservation at this hotel for one night to attend a conference and the event was postponed, I called customer service and the man that answer the phone told me that the time to cancel had expired and I told him that I had made the reservation four hours before that how long was the deadline to cancel if it was 30 minutes or one hour, that it wasn't specified in the reservation rules and he told me that I should of read the reservation policies before I reserved the room, this is the kind of customer service this company has, stupid people that don't know how to treat a customer, no people skills at all

Econo Lodge review: Potential Identity Theft/Profiling

I stayed at this motel for one night in October, 2017. The room was clean, the tub did not work although the shower did, the bed was not very comfortable. But my biggest concern was the amount of information they collected. I booked the room a couple of days before, over the phone, and understood that I had given them all the information they needed, my credit card information, name (first and last) and phone number and my driver's license number. When I arrived, I was told that they would require more information, and when I complained he said “it was policy”. I complained about having to give my driver's license and he said the previous person shouldn't have asked for it and that he would delete everything the other person put in and re-enter my information. However, he did not ask for information such as my credit card number, which I was told they needed as a form of damage deposit, so I suspect he was not telling the truth. My phone number was also on my invoice although I don’t recall him asking for it after supposedly deleting it. If I left to find another hotel/motel, they would just charge the room to my credit card. In the end, they had all the information off my credit card and, from I could tell, my driver's license, plus my phone number. The information from my driver's license included my middle name (which was on the invoice although I had verbally just given them just my first and last name), my date of birth, etc. In short, they had enough information for identity theft. Why would they need this much information from an older woman, staying one night and paying cash? When I looked up J & R Motel online I thought it was a Canadian-owned independent motel. It wasn't until I arrived that I realized that it was part of the EconoLodge group, a U.S. company. I have found in the past that U.S. hotels/motels want a lot of information that, in my opinion, they don't need. Now, I have to watch my credit card and other activities VERY closely for any indication that identity theft is taking place. I will also be more careful in the future, and never stay at an Econolodge place, or for that matter, if I can avoid it, any U.S. owned motel/hotel.

Econo Lodge review in Columbia, South Carolina: Bad Business

1.0
Details
It is very sad, this day and time hotels have nasty roaches in their hotel rooms. The hotel is undergoing remodeling hence, an excavation? Maybe it should not be open for business. I am very particular as to where I refer family and friends. I had no idea this hotel would be a bad choice for a family member who was exhausted and needed a quick place to sleep. I was heartbroken to find out the place was infested with bugs. Additionally, when my family member inquired about the situation the front desk reception was very rude and unwilling to work with my family member. This is very disappointing and I will never refer anyone to this hotel/motel in the foreseeable future
